The Alvarez Blues51W/TSB is a relatively small-sized guitar with a 14.75-inch lower bout. As its name implies, it borrows heavily from early, simple guitars adopted by Mississippi Delta blues guitarists. It has a solid spruce soundboard with a sunburst finish. It has walnut back and sides with an arched back.
From a reviewer: This Alvarez Blues51W/TSB ought to be illegal… I keep looking out the window to see if the guitar police are coming up the sidewalk. In my opinion, it is the best production acoustic steel-string guitar that I’ve ever played or heard. It has that unmistakable sound that I heard as a teenager in juke joints around where I grew up in the Carolinas. It’s the first guitar that has actually made me consider buying two, just in case something happens to the current one. (The “W” is for walnut; the Blues51 was also released with rosewood back and sides.)
