Duesenberg Starplayer Bass – Short Scale, Tobacco Burst with Custom Line Case

The Duesenberg Starplayer Bass in Tobacco Burst is a short-scale semi-hollow bass that delivers vintage warmth, refined German craftsmanship, and unmistakable retro style in one stunning package. Built on the same platform as the iconic Starplayer TV, it pairs a laminated spruce arched top with laminated flamed maple back and bent sides — a combination that produces the open, resonant character of a semi-hollow with a sustain block construction that keeps feedback firmly in check, even at high gain levels.

Two Duesenberg BassBucker pickups deliver clear, rich overtones and crisp, articulate response across the full frequency range. Separate volume controls for each pickup plus a master tone dial give you precise blending capability — from warm, woody neck tones to punchy bridge bite, and everything in between. An on/off slide switch adds further versatility for quick tonal shifts on the fly.

The one-piece maple set neck features a comfortable Medium D profile and a short 30.2" scale length (768mm) that makes this bass exceptionally comfortable to play — ideal for players transitioning from guitar or anyone who prefers a more relaxed left-hand feel without sacrificing tone. The Indian rosewood fingerboard has a 12" radius, 22 jumbo frets, and has been Plek processed for perfectly level frets, with multi-step hand polishing and setup that makes it play like nothing else in its class.

Finished in a rich Tobacco Burst PUR lacquer with cream binding, aged white pickguard, and nickel hardware — including Duesenberg Z-Tuners, Bass Bridge, and Trapeze Tailpiece — the Starplayer Bass is as visually striking as it sounds. Duesenberg Multi-Lock strap pins are included as standard.

Strung with Duesenberg Custom .050–.110 strings and includes a Custom Line Case and all required allen keys.
