The Yairi DY70ce combines the full acoustic presence of a dreadnought with the flexibility of a cutaway acoustic-electric. Handcrafted in Kani, Japan, this Standard Series model pairs a solid AA Sitka spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides, finished in natural gloss for a classic appearance.

Sitka spruce brings clarity and dynamic range, while rosewood adds depth and harmonic richness. The dreadnought body provides a broad, full voice for rhythmic strumming and vocal accompaniment, with the definition needed for melodic picking. A cutaway offers convenient access to the upper frets.

FST2 bracing supports the soundboard’s response, complemented by Yairi’s rosewood Direct Coupled bridge. An extended dovetail neck joint and careful attention to the neck, bracing and top reflect the workshop’s hands-on approach to guitar building.

The one-piece mahogany neck features a semi-gloss finish and a rosewood fingerboard with an abalone inlay at the 12th fret. A 25½-inch scale length and 44 mm nut width provide a versatile platform for chord work, flatpicking and fingerstyle playing.

Ivoroid binding, abalone and mother-of-pearl details, and Gotoh tuners complete the refined appearance. A bone nut and saddle and ebony bridge pins round out the appointments. Equipped with the LR Baggs StagePro Bronze pickup and EQ system and supplied with a hardshell case, the DY70ce brings together traditional Yairi craftsmanship and practical versatility for amplified performance.
