Alvarez Masterworks Series MDR70ESB Tobacco Sunburst 12-Fret Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar with AFC30 FlexiCase

Alvarez Masterworks Series MDR70ESB Tobacco Sunburst 12-Fret Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar with AFC30 FlexiCase

The Alvarez MDR70ESB combines the full, open voice of a 12-fret dreadnought with all-solid tonewoods and traditional appointments. A solid AAA Sitka spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides deliver clear, rounded bass and glistening trebles, with the tonal depth for expressive fingerpicking and powerful strummed accompaniment.

The 12th-fret neck joint brings a distinctive feel to this dreadnought design, positioning the bridge closer to the centre of the soundboard. Paired with Alvarez’s FS6 forward-shifted bracing and tapered tone bars, it produces a quick response, robust notes, and balanced definition across all six strings. Full chords retain clarity, while individual notes ring with presence.

A thin Tobacco Sunburst gloss finish gives the MDR70ESB a classic, pre-war-inspired appearance. The slotted headstock, vintage-style open-gear tuners, and mother-of-pearl inlays reinforce its traditional character, while the satin-finished mahogany neck offers a smooth playing feel.

The 25½" scale length and 1¾" nut width provide a versatile platform for chord work, flatpicking, and detailed fingerstyle passages. An Indian laurel fingerboard and bi-level bridge, together with a real bone nut and saddle, complete its carefully considered construction.

For amplified performance, the LR Baggs Element VTC system provides soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls, keeping adjustments within easy reach while preserving the guitar’s clean appearance.

An Alvarez AFC30 FlexiCase is included.
