Construction & Tonewoods

AAAA Solid Sitka Spruce Top
Only the finest quartersawn, silked North American Sitka spruce is used in the Laureate Series. Tops are thickness-sanded slightly thinner than standard to heighten responsiveness and dynamic range — a refinement only possible with this grade of material.

Solid East Indian Rosewood Back & Sides
Bookmatched from the best East Indian Rosewood stock available, selected for perfect colouring and grain consistency. The result is a rich, complex low-end with articulate highs and exceptional sustain.

Hand-Finished FS6 Bracing
Based on a traditional forward-shifted pattern, FS6 bracing is hand-sanded from quartersawn Sitka spruce struts chosen for straight, fine grain. The additional hand-finishing step — unique to the Laureate Series — enhances overall resonance and vibrational efficiency.

African Ebony Appointments
Bridge, fingerboard, and headstock plate are cut from premium African ebony, contributing to note clarity, separation, and articulation. Paired with rare Blue Abalone inlays, the aesthetic is luxurious yet understated — a hallmark of the Laureate aesthetic.

Traditional Laureate Bridge
Inspired by guitar designs from the late 1800s to 1930s, the Laureate uses a full single-level bridge — a deliberate departure from Alvarez's Bi-Level design — cut from the finest black ebony for tonal purity and period-correct styling.

Flawless Gloss Finish — Daybreak Burst
Alvarez's most refined finish process to date: the thinnest clearcoat ever applied to an Alvarez guitar, delivering a deep, flawless gloss. The Daybreak colourway adds a subtle, light burst that imparts vintage depth without overpowering the natural beauty of the tonewoods.
