The Alvarez LP70e Herringbone Sunset is a beautifully crafted, all-solid parlor acoustic-electric guitar that combines vintage-inspired design, premium tonewoods, and exceptional attention to detail. Part of Alvarez's flagship Laureate Series, this instrument reflects a bench-made approach to guitar construction, with carefully selected materials and refined appointments that deliver outstanding tonal character, responsiveness, and playability.

Featuring an AAA solid North American Sitka spruce top paired with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the LP70e delivers a rich, balanced acoustic voice with articulate highs, warm lows, and impressive harmonic complexity. Its compact parlor body and traditional 12-fret neck joint provide a comfortable playing experience, making it an excellent choice for fingerstyle guitarists, light strumming, and intimate acoustic performances.

The elegant Sunset Gloss finish, traditional herringbone detailing, ivoroid binding, and premium abalone inlays give this instrument a timeless aesthetic reminiscent of the finest vintage acoustics. Equipped with the LR Baggs HiFi pickup system, the LP70e transitions effortlessly from pure acoustic performance to natural, detailed amplified sound.

Premium Laureate Construction

Hand-Selected Solid Tonewoods

The Laureate Series represents Alvarez's dedication to exceptional craftsmanship. Each component is carefully selected for structural integrity, tonal performance, and visual beauty. The premium quartersawn Sitka spruce top is carefully thickness-sanded to enhance responsiveness and dynamic range, allowing the guitar to respond naturally to even the lightest touch.

Hand-Finished FS6 Bracing

Alvarez's forward-shifted FS6 bracing is crafted from carefully selected quartersawn Sitka spruce and individually hand-finished to optimize top vibration. This refined construction enhances resonance, projection, and tonal complexity while maintaining excellent note separation and balance.

Solid East Indian Rosewood Back & Sides

Beautifully bookmatched solid East Indian rosewood provides depth, warmth, and harmonic richness. Its naturally resonant character complements the clarity of the Sitka spruce top, producing a full, expressive sound that exceeds expectations for a compact parlor guitar.

Traditional Ebony Appointments

Premium ebony is used for the fingerboard, bridge, and headstock plate, providing durability, elegant appearance, and excellent tonal articulation. The traditional single-level ebony bridge reflects the vintage-inspired design philosophy of the Laureate Series, while premium abalone inlays add a sophisticated finishing touch.

Herringbone Detailing & Sunset Gloss Finish

Inspired by classic acoustic guitars, the LP70e features traditional herringbone detailing complemented by elegant ivoroid binding. The warm Sunset Gloss finish highlights the natural beauty of the Sitka spruce top, while the Natural Gloss back and sides showcase the rich grain of the East Indian rosewood.

Alvarez's refined finishing process uses an exceptionally thin gloss coating designed to preserve the instrument's natural resonance and responsiveness.

Electronics

LR Baggs HiFi Pickup System

The LP70e Herringbone Sunset comes equipped with the premium LR Baggs HiFi pickup system, designed to reproduce the guitar's natural acoustic character with exceptional clarity and dynamic response.

Using discreet bridge-plate sensors, the system captures the instrument's resonance and tonal detail while maintaining a clean, traditional appearance. Whether performing live, recording, or playing through an acoustic amplifier, the HiFi delivers a warm, articulate, and authentic amplified sound.
