Built for flatpickers and powerful strummers, the Alvarez MD60EBG pairs traditional bluegrass styling with an all-solid construction designed for strong projection and a responsive feel. A solid AAA Sitka spruce top and solid African mahogany back and sides deliver clear, powerful bass, sparkling trebles, and the definition needed for articulate lead runs and driving rhythm playing.

At the heart of its sound is Alvarez’s FS6 forward-shifted bracing. Moving the X-brace closer to the soundhole leaves a larger area of the top free to vibrate, helping produce an open, full-bodied voice with balance across the bass and treble registers. Carefully seasoned tonewoods and a thin gloss finish support the guitar’s lively response.

The MD60EBG’s appointments pay tribute to classic bluegrass instruments. Herringbone detailing, a tortoiseshell-style pickguard, nickel open-gear tuners, and paua abalone and mother-of-pearl inlays give it a timeless appearance. An extended Indian laurel fingerboard adds a distinctive finishing touch, while the one-piece mahogany neck features a semi-gloss finish for a comfortable playing feel.

Alvarez’s bi-level bridge creates a steeper string break angle over the saddle, while a real bone nut and saddle complete the design. For amplified performance, the LR Baggs Element VTC system provides convenient volume and tone control. An AF30 FlexiCase is included.
