Yairi FY70CESHB Standard Series Folk/OM Acoustic-Electric Guitar w/ Hardshell Case – Shadowburst

The Last of the Last

The Yairi FY70CESHB combines the comfortable proportions of a Folk/OM cutaway with a rich gloss Shadowburst finish. Handcrafted in Kani, Japan, this Standard Series acoustic-electric pairs a solid AA Sitka spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides for a versatile voice with clarity, warmth and harmonic depth.

The Folk/OM body offers a balanced response well suited to fingerpicking, melodic passages and vocal accompaniment. Sitka spruce provides articulation and dynamic range, while rosewood adds fullness and tonal texture. A cutaway allows convenient access to the upper frets, extending the guitar’s versatility for solo arrangements.

FST2 forward-shifted X-bracing features centre-scooped scalloping on the main braces and asymmetric scalloping on the tone bars to encourage string separation, balance and projection. A carefully applied thin finish supports soundboard movement, while Yairi’s rosewood Direct Coupled bridge transfers string vibration into the top.

The one-piece mahogany neck features a semi-gloss finish and an extended dovetail joint, paired with a rosewood fingerboard. A 25-inch scale length and 44 mm nut width provide a comfortable platform for detailed chord work and expressive picking. Ivoroid binding, abalone and mother-of-pearl details, and chrome Gotoh tuners complete the refined appearance.

For amplified performance, the LR Baggs StagePro EQ and Element pickup system provides a side-mounted preamp with three-band EQ, a chromatic tuner and convenient battery access. A bone nut and saddle and ebony bridge pins round out the appointments. Supplied with a hardshell case, the FY70CESHB brings together traditional Yairi craftsmanship and practical performance features.
