The Yairi DY1 combines the warmth of a cedar top with the depth of a dreadnought body, finished in a rich gloss Sunburst. Handcrafted in Kani, Japan, this Stage Series acoustic-electric pairs a solid AA Western red cedar top with East Indian rosewood back and sides for an expressive voice and refined appearance.

Cedar’s sensitivity rewards a lighter touch, bringing warmth and detail to fingerpicked passages and vocal accompaniment. The DY1 delivers focused articulation and a full low end, with a balanced response that gives chords depth while keeping melodic lines clear.

FST2 bracing and Yairi’s rosewood Direct Coupled bridge support the guitar’s acoustic response. A one-piece mahogany neck with an extended dovetail joint provides a carefully crafted foundation, while its semi-gloss finish and rosewood fingerboard offer a comfortable playing feel. The 44 mm nut width provides room for intricate chord shapes and fingerstyle work.

Ivoroid binding and 1.5 mm paua abalone purfling frame the Sunburst body, complemented by abalone and mother-of-pearl details and a rosewood headstock plate. Gotoh tuners, a bone nut and saddle, and ebony bridge pins complete the appointments.

Equipped with the LR Baggs StagePro Bronze pickup and EQ system, the DY1 is ready for amplified performance. Supplied with a hardshell case, it brings together distinctive styling, versatile sound and the craftsmanship that defines Yairi.
