Yairi DYM74 Masterworks Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar w/ Hardshell Case – Natural

The Yairi DYM74 pairs the depth and presence of a dreadnought with the expressive character of vintage Californian redwood. Handcrafted in Kani, Japan, this Masterworks acoustic features a solid AAA vintage redwood top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, finished in natural gloss to showcase the wood’s distinctive grain.

Redwood brings warmth and sensitivity to the response, while rosewood contributes a deep low end and rich harmonic detail. The DYM74 offers a full, open voice that rewards nuanced picking and gives strummed chords depth and texture. Its dreadnought proportions make it a compelling choice for players seeking an expansive sound with a responsive feel.

Hand-carved FST6 forward-shifted bracing with asymmetric tone bars uses lighter braces to encourage soundboard movement while maintaining structural support. Yairi’s ebony Direct Coupled bridge transfers string vibration into the top, working alongside an extended dovetail neck joint to complete the carefully considered construction.

A one-piece mahogany neck with a semi-gloss finish meets an ebony fingerboard, with a 25½-inch scale length and 44 mm nut width providing a versatile platform for rhythm and fingerstyle playing. The neck joins the body at the 14th fret, offering familiar dreadnought proportions.

Ivoroid binding, abalone and mother-of-pearl details, and gold Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons give the DYM74 a refined appearance. A bone nut and saddle and ebony bridge pins complete the appointments. Supplied with a hardshell case, this Japanese-built Masterworks guitar combines distinctive tonewoods with meticulous craftsmanship.
