While Fender was moving factories in the early 1980s, they began producing guitars in a Japanese facility and one year all Fender guitars were produced in Japan. Since they have all but discontinued Japanese production, these guitars have created their own fan base with interesting components and custom colors. This is a great example with Kahler 2-point tremolo (the locking nut has been removed and is in the case minus the tightening screws and the actual tremolo arm is replaced with a non-original that functions but does not snap into place), a unique color (is it California blue? it does have a metallic twang to it), and all the mojo from these Eighties Strats. Plays and sound great with moderate to heavy playwear. Comes w/HSC.
