Alvarez Masterworks Series MF60CE Shadowburst OM Acoustic-Electric Guitar with AFC30 FlexiCase

Alvarez Masterworks Series MF60CE Shadowburst OM Acoustic-Electric Guitar with AFC30 FlexiCase

The Alvarez MF60CE Shadowburst combines all-solid tonewoods, a comfortable OM cutaway body, and premium electronics in a versatile acoustic-electric guitar. Built with a solid AAA Sitka spruce top and solid African mahogany back and sides, it delivers clear articulation, warm midrange, and a responsive voice suited to fingerstyle playing, expressive lead work, and strummed accompaniment.

Alvarez’s FS6 forward-shifted, scalloped bracing allows a larger area of the soundboard to vibrate freely, supporting an open voice with strong projection and balanced definition. The carefully selected spruce top undergoes Alvarez’s ATR—Advanced Tonal Response treatment, a controlled curing process designed to enhance stability and encourage the resonance and response associated with more mature tonewoods.

The Shadowburst gloss top gives the MF60CE a distinctive look, complemented by natural gloss mahogany back and sides. An East Indian rosewood fingerboard and headstock facing, premium mother-of-pearl inlays, and open-gear tuners complete its refined appointments. A bone nut and saddle, ebony bridge pins, and Alvarez’s bi-level rosewood bridge round out the build.

With its shorter 24 13/16" scale length and 1¾" nut width, the MF60CE offers a comfortable playing feel with room for detailed fingerstyle work. The cutaway provides access to the upper frets, adding versatility for players who move between accompaniment and lead passages.

For amplified performance, the LR Baggs HiFi system pairs dual bridge-plate sensors with a built-in preamp to capture the guitar’s balance, definition, and dynamics. Its closed sensor design also helps resist feedback, making it a practical choice for live performance.

An Alvarez AFC30 FlexiCase is included.
